Product Care Guide
We believe your furniture should be as enduring as the memories you make around it. To help your pieces age beautifully, here's how to care for each of the core materials in your home sanctuary.
Leather
What to Know: Our natural leather is among the softest and most luxurious materials available. Each hide is unique, with natural variations in grain, tone, and markings like healed scars and wrinkles—these aren’t flaws, but the hallmarks of quality.
Care Tips:
- Dust and vacuum with a soft brush attachment every 3 months to remove surface dirt.
- Wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, damp white or colorfast cloth. Avoid over-wetting.
- Blot spills immediately—especially from drinks, oils, or lotions. Dab gently and work from the outside in.
- Never use soap, saddle soap, oils, detergents, solvents, spray cleaners, or abrasive products.
- Avoid direct sunlight and maintain a distance of at least 8-12 inches from heat sources.
- Do not dry leather with a hair dryer or in direct sunlight.
- Natural aniline leathers absorb spills quickly. These finishes need extra attention and should be cared for more delicately.
Fabric
What to Know: Our upholstery fabrics are thoughtfully selected for comfort, color, and resilience. With simple maintenance, they stay soft and inviting.
Care Tips:
- Vacuum regularly using an upholstery attachment to keep dust and dirt from settling.
- Rotate and flip cushions periodically to distribute wear evenly.
- Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub.
- Use mild fabric cleaners or a diluted soap solution for spot cleaning. Always test on a hidden area first.
Solid Wood
What to Know: Solid wood is a living material that shifts subtly with temperature and humidity. Each knot and grain pattern is part of its natural charm.
Care Tips:
- Dust with a dry, soft cloth to keep the surface clean.
- Wipe spills promptly to prevent staining or warping.
- Use coasters, placemats, and trivets to protect against heat and moisture.
- Keep away from heating vents, radiators, and direct sunlight to prevent drying or cracking.
Veneer
What to Know: Wood veneer offers the beauty of real wood with increased stability and sustainability. It’s a premium surface—thin slices of natural wood bonded to a composite base—that resists warping and uses fewer trees.
Care Tips:
- Wipe with a soft, damp lint-free cloth, ideally in the direction of the grain.
- For tougher marks, use a small amount of mild dish soap—no wax or silicone polishes.
- Never use abrasive cleaners or rough cloths; these may scratch or cloud the finish.
- Protect from heat, sunlight, and moisture. Use placemats and coasters and clean up spills quickly.
- If bubbling occurs, it’s likely due to heat or moisture damage.
Glass
What to Know: Glass surfaces add lightness and clarity to any space. They’re modern, elegant, and easy to maintain with regular care.
Care Tips:
- Clean using a glass cleaner or a solution of vinegar and water with a soft cloth.
- Do not use abrasive pads, which can scratch the surface.
- Lift objects rather than dragging them across the glass to avoid etching or scratches.
Metal
What to Know: Metal elements lend an edge of sophistication and durability to your furniture. They’re easy to clean and maintain when treated gently.
Care Tips:
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
- Clean gently with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Dry immediately to avoid water spots or rust.
- For unpainted metal, use a polish occasionally to maintain its shine.
Polyurethane (PU)
What to Know: Polyurethane is a durable, flexible material that gives the look and feel of leather with more resilience to wear and tear.
Care Tips:
- Wipe with a clean cloth dampened with warm water and mild soap.
- Avoid harsh cleaners and chemicals that can crack or degrade the finish.
- Keep away from sharp objects, and clean spills immediately to prevent staining or damage.
